Research  Education  Leadership

These three areas shape much of what I do. Explore my work to learn more about the research I pursue, the way I approach education, and the communities I help build.

As a Researcher

I explore how history is produced, communicated, and mobilized through education, space, and public memory. Across projects in nineteenth-century Peru, contemporary China, early modern London, and WWII Asia, I use mixed methods and digital humanities tools—including GIS mapping, text mining, interviewing, and archival storytelling—to examine the relationship between ideology, civic institutions, and historical narrative. I’m especially interested in how historical knowledge shapes governance and how museums and digital platforms translate trauma, justice, and collective memory for public audiences.

As an Educator

I design learning experiences that respond to students’ different ages, strengths, and needs. My work spans early childhood through high school and includes curriculum development, individualized instruction, tutoring, and program leadership. I am especially interested in student-centered and inclusive learning, helping learners build confidence, strengthen academic skills, and develop strategies they can carry beyond the classroom.

As a Leader

As a leader, I focus on building communities where people can participate, contribute, and grow. My experience spans student governance, academic programming, research initiatives, and accessibility-focused organizations. I enjoy bringing people together around shared goals, turning ideas into workable programs, and creating opportunities for students to connect with research, faculty, and one another. Whether coordinating a journal, organizing academic events, supporting fair decision-making, or leading student initiatives, I approach leadership as a collaborative process grounded in communication, responsibility, and care for the communities I serve.
